This tropical garden achieves a contemporary edge with the use of massed plantings that maximise foliage contrast, timber decking, minimalist pots, strong colours used on the walls and pebbles used as mulch and incorporated into the paving. Even the traditional "Bale sawa" gazebo is up to date with canvas being used instead of thatch, resulting in a light and airy retreat.

A tranquil pond, bamboo screen backdrops and carefully placed sculptures balance the cotemporary feel to create a garden sanctuary.
