The glare created by large areas of limestone paving around the existing swimming pool made the area uninviting to be in and to look at from the adjacent studio.

Solution

Areas of the paving were replaced with granite cobblestones, garden beds and lawn. A metal louvre pergola provides shade to the studio windows and a free standing pergola will soon be covered with a climber, casting shade over a garden seat. The cast iron water feature and urns complement some existing cast iron features in other parts of the garden.
