At the first meeting we discuss both your aspirations and practical needs for the garden. The outcome of these discussions is a comprehensive design brief. The site may be measured, documented and photographed at this stage or arrangements made for this to be done on a separate visit. If you can supply copies of survey drawings, site plans or builder's drawings it can assist in the process. The cost of the design is estimated at this time.
The fee for the Initial Consultation is $150.00 + GST per hour.
There are a number of steps involved in producing a Garden or Landscape Plan. The size and complexity of the project will determine how many of the steps are required.
Concept Plan - a concept plan is often required on large projects or when certain design issues require further resolution. When this plan has been reviewed and agreed upon a detailed plan is prepared.
Landscape Plan - the master plan is the detailed plan drawn to scale showing all the elements of the garden. You or a contractor can use this plan to implement the design. The plant details are usually shown on this plan but sometimes due to the amount of detail on the plan it may be necessary to produce a Planting Plan showing the plant specifications.
You can implement the Landscape Plan yourself or you can use the plan to obtain comparative quotes from a number of landscape contractors. Alternatively Hidcote Landscapes can obtain a quote from a landscape contractor and supervise the installation ensuring that the garden is constructed according to the plan and to a high standard.
